Marin County Airport, Gnoss Field (KDVO)

Monthly Meetings

We hold a monthly meeting the second Tuesday of each month (except December) in the Civil Air Patrol trailer at Gnoss Field, at 7:00. We have a great variety of interesting speakers, lots of hangar flying (and some B.S.), and pizza and salad is available at 6:30 for a nominal charge.

Contact us at the phone or email listed at the bottom left of this page for more information, or just drop on by-our banner will be out front and we'd love to have you join us!

Airport Open House April 12

Gnoss Field will hold an open house on Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come on out for free BBQ (while it lasts!), some interesting statis display aircraft, and Young Eagles rides for the kids. Rumor has it the CJ boys will be making a couple of fly-bys, and a local club will be on hand to introduce the kids to aeromodeling!  Low key, low stress, good time!

Wings Over Marin 2013 September 21, 2013

Our friends over at the Gnoss Field Community Association (GFCA) are sponsoring Wings Over Marin 2013 at Gnoss Field on Saturday, September 21. Co-sponsored by the 99s, this event will feature static aircraft displays, fly-bys, presentations by the 99s, aviation exhibits galore and, best of all, hourly drawings to receive a Young Eagles flight during the event! Mark you calendar to save the date-we'll post a link to the event Web and Facebook pages as soon as they're available.

Young Eagles Day, September 28, 2013

Our 11th annual Young Eagles Day at Gnoss Field will be held Saturday, September 28 this year. Watch this space (and our Facebook page) for more details, or contact Ken Mercer at for information in the meantime.

Weekly Lunch Meetings

We also get together for lunch at noon every Thursday at the McGinnis Park Golf Club restaurant, 350 Smith Ranch Road, San Rafael. We're a big group (20+) so we shouldn't be hard to find, but if you'll give Phil Simon a  call beforehand he'll make sure someone's there to greet you!

There's no real agenda for these lunches but since we have a wide range of experience among those who attend there's always a lot of good conversation and discussion of current events in aviation.
